MORE LOCAL JOBSLeipsic is fortunate to have many industry partners and family owned businesses employing people from around the region.
This raw waterline will provide the water needed for our current industries, expansions and future industries. The construction of the waterline has already lead to the commitment of $400 million in private investment, 80 new high-paying jobs and the retention of 357 jobs. |

ReservoirThe Village maintains a 450 million gallon above ground reservoir that supplies raw water to industries for manufacturing processes. The Reservoir is currently supplied by the Yellow Creek which is an intermittent stream typically only capable of providing water 90 days of the year with limited water quality.
|
WaterlineSeven miles of 24” diameter pipe will be constructed within the road right-of-way from the pump station to the existing Leipsic Reservoir. This pipe will be a pressurized raw water transmission main for the purpose of filling the reservoir. There will be some valves along the line. The entire waterline will be buried approximately five feet deep or below existing infrastructure. |
Pump StationThe new pump station will pump raw water from the Blanchard River to the Village’s reservoir. It will operate with variable speed pumps and an emergency backup generator.
The new raw water intake will be located within the Blanchard River near Gilboa. It will allow the Village to pump water up to 3.611 million gallons daily. This intake can operate approximately 180 days of the year with a measurable increase in water quality. Securing an adequate water supply will allow us to continue to grow our industrial base and continue bringing prosperity to the region. |
